The engage2013 

Super Exciting! 





A huge flurry of activity was expected this time around when Tavant decided to have its annual event - titled engage2013. 
What came was this maelstrom of excitement, people, and hard work that made the event one of the most unforgettable events of the year. There were newer events this year, like the Round Table and Panel Discussions which made engage2013 a hard to miss event. Kudos to all the teams and people who worked behind the scene to make the event so engaging and colorful. 

This time engage2013, was the place to meet the greatest talent and brightest minds together while they showcased their projects, technical strengths and talent all under one roof. 

This picture below gives a brief glance at all the different events that were held on the first day. The day started bright and early and gave way to the welcoming of some honored guests. Day 1 had the TechConnect event, and the Leader's Forum which included the Keynote speech and the Panel Discussion.

TechConnect 2013

This was the fifth edition of the annual technology exhibition, where various teams from Tavant exhibit their cutting edge technology offerings, share best practices, showcase frameworks & demos on custom applications and solutions that span Mobility, BI & Big Data, Software Testing, Custom Software Development, UI etc.

The excitement at each exhibit was palpable. Everyone was in a sincere road to get it right in front of judges. There were many teams who were gunning for the top place which included prizes such as the Best Exhibit and Audience Choice Awards.
The mobility exhibit presented several projects that the the Tavant Mobility COE team have been working on over the past year in terms of pushing the boundaries of what they can deliver to their clients. Their exhibit showcased various projects such as Home Automation using mobile devices and Arduino, Precision Agriculture using Big Data and the Internet of things, Augmented Reality based content delivery using mobile devices, Mobile App and Device Management app, and their very own Gladio security app. Now available in the app store!! Go and get it today! The Big Data Exhibit presented their expertise with cloud and big data technologies and even showcased a prototype of real-time processing of big data.

The Project Management Exhibit presented the Enterprise Project Management Tool (EPM) wherein they showed visitors how to make a detailed project plan in the Microsoft Project tool. They also show how to track projects, and analyse the reports using a special portfolio tool. The team also presented the new version of the Tavant Open Kitchen tool that was rolled out across projects.  

The Media and Entertainment Exhibit explained their Second Screen App on the iPad, and the CMS evaluation sheet which was built as in-house tool (in the form of an excel sheet) to evaluate and propose a CMS for the client, based on Tavant's expertise and their requirements. They had a fun activity at the booth - the Social/Image picker game which was very well received. 
The super exciting Front End Engineering Team had their entire army of members to help them out in presenting the Design, User Experience Process, Design capabilities, and Development which included Web frameworks(Backbone, angular Js, Knockout etc), Responsive Web Development, and Performance tuning.
They presented a Tavant and engage branded FEET team calendar. They won the Best Exhibit Award! 




At the Zero-D exhibit - it was the hub of the Automation Frame work FIRE, the BI Testing framework, NFR testing capabilities, Mobile testing framework and other Domain expertise. 

There were many souvenirs handed out to the visitors of the booth. And there was a special event where they inaugurated the FIRE 3.0 Web Framework. 

At the $Consumer Exhibit the team were able to present the entire suite of Tavant's Consumer Lending applications.  They had arranged for two really fun games at their booth - the luck based Wheel of fortune – a game based on events related to the life of a mortgage loan and the ‘Text Twist’ game using glossary of terms related to Consumer Lending domain. 

At the Precision Agriculture Booth, which was debuting its presence for the very first time at a TechConnect Event, the focus was on the R7 app which is a farming decision support application created for the iPad to enable sellers help growers make aware of their fields and make better decisions.

Leaders Forum - Keynote and Panel Discussion

Pat Schroeder, The Director IT at Stonegate Mortgage was the keynote speaker at the Leader's Forum. In her passionate, practical and entertaining speech about Women Leadership in the IT sector, Pat brought out the relevance of living and winning in today's corporate world. 

"Technologies that drive customer satisfaction" was the topic that was in debate at the Panel Discussion. The esteemed panel included Parimala Rao Director IT at the New York Times as the Moderator, Pat Schroeder, Director IT at Stonegate Mortgage, Dan Rosenbaum, Director of Business Consulting at the Land O'Lakes, Michael Suckow- Head of Tavant's eBusiness Practice and Sasha Heroy - Senior Project Manager, Ad Systems and Operations at The New York Times.
